B2B 15 Minute Relationship Building

Whether a buyer or provider of services in a B2B space, I truly believe in what I call  the 15 minute, no strings attached investment. In a world of social media, email, and texting we all too often lose the “human” connection. The lack of relationship building not only suffers, but is all too often completely lost. This is why I offer, and encourage everyone to book a free 15 min call on their calendar at a mutual convenience. Click here for my calendar. These aren’t opportunities for sales calls, as much as they are opportunities to meet on video or over the phone to put a face to a name. This serves both parties in that we tend to get a much better feeling for one another as people when seeing and/or hearing the other person. This interaction serves me to better understand personality, expectations, challenges, and best practices of the company my new acquaintance represents, and just as important, it provides the person on the other end an opportunity to understand my personality, workspace, and what I have to truly offer. I appreciate all meetings of this sort, because if we do end up working together down the road, we kind of “know” one another. So, if an odd text or email comes in, it won’t be taken personally because it was out of context. We will already have formed a relationship and understand each others’ personality. The key term here is personality, because just living life and doing business through the keyboard has unfortunately taken the “person” out of personality. And if we never do direct business together, then I most probably had the opportunity to meet and hopefully stay in touch with someone who is doing cool things and has their own interesting story. In my opinion, you can not put a value to 15 minutes this well spent.
